Who’s behind it

Two founders, one mission

  1. 01

    Tom Kegode

    Co-founder

Future of work strategist with sixteen years leading culture, innovation and people change inside large organisations, now a C-suite partner and executive coach. Tom designs the experiences that turn a room of leaders into a team that ships the change: the Work:Lab Method, future-ready executive programmes and multi-generation value exchange.

    Tom Kegode

    Co-founder

Tom brings sixteen years inside big organisations doing the work most people only advise on: culture change, transformation, and making new ways of working stick once the launch event is over.

That means he has been in the room when the budget gets cut and the change still has to land. It is why Joyful is built on co-creation rather than recommendation. People adopt what they help build, and they do not argue with what they helped make.

He can move a room of two thousand or a team of six with the same energy. He is also a school governor, which keeps him close to where the next generation of workers is actually coming from.

    Co-founder

Education and enterprise expert with more than 100,000 people trained over a decade, and an MBE for enterprise education and tackling food poverty. Bejay builds the rooms where unlikely people meet, from Breaking Bread dinners and Supa Campus to creative immersive experiences, and advises Google, Canva, Dr Martens and HM Government on reaching the next generation.

    Bejay Mulenga MBE

    Co-founder

Fifteen years building businesses, and more than fifty thousand entrepreneurs and creators trained along the way. Founder of Supa Network and the Business Building Club.

An MBE at 28, and the UK’s youngest winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion.

He advises Google, Canva, Dr Martens and HM Government, and has built work with Barclays, River Island, the BBC, the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and Sony.

He knows what young people actually want from work, because he has spent a career getting them into the rooms where the decisions get made.

OUR MANIFESTO

The Joyful Manifesto

Make work more human. Make life more joyful.

Joyful Humanity exists to celebrate what makes us human, at a time when it can feel like technology is taking over. Advances in technology, science and finance have brought extraordinary progress, and they have left major inequities for millions of people. Our answer is connection: a platform and living ecosystem that helps people connect better as humans, throughout their work and their life.

  1. 01We live to tell stories, create moments and spark joy.
  2. 02People, planet and positivity come first. Profit will come and go; we only have one life.
  3. 03Work-life harmony, beyond work-life balance. Feeling fulfilled at work and in life, finding joy in what you do and in every community you are part of.
  4. 04The conditions for enjoyment are the conditions for high performance. So we make everything enjoyable by default.
  5. 05We educate, inspire and connect through play, learning, food and tech. Tech for good, learning for life, food to inspire.
  6. 06Only humans can do what humans do best. Our job is to protect it, grow it and celebrate it.

Future of WorkGenerations at Work

The shifts we make

Two things are changing work faster than anything else

AI landing in the workplace, and five generations working side by side.

  1. 01 · Future of Work

Everyone bought the tools, and the work stayed the same

The AI landed, the ways of working didn’t move, and the time it promised never turned up.

  2. 02 · Generations at Work

The bottom rung of the ladder is disappearing

AI is taking the jobs people used to learn on, so juniors are being asked to start senior and nobody has rethought how they grow.
