What we collect, and what we do with it.
No twelve pages of legal hedging. Here’s the honest version.
What we collect
Your email address, when you give it to us: joining the Joyful Collective, taking the How’s Work? Pulse Check, or getting in touch.
Anything else you choose to tell us in a form: your name, organisation, role, what you’re planning and how you heard about us.
If you take the Pulse Check, your answers and your scores.
Basic numbers about which pages get visited.

To send you what you signed up for: news from the Joyful Collective and the odd email from Bejay and Tom.
To see what’s useful on the site, so we can make the rest better.
Where it lives
The site runs on Shopify. Your contact details, what you send through our forms and your latest Pulse Check result sit in our Shopify account.
Your full Pulse Check answers are also stored with Supabase, on servers in the EU. Resend sends our automatic emails, and messages to us arrive in our Microsoft 365 inbox.
These companies hold and process it for us, on our instructions. We don’t sell your data, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we don’t pass it to anyone else unless the law makes us.
Cookies
Shopify uses a few cookies to make the site work and to count visits. We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The Pulse Check counts visits without cookies.
How long we keep it
For as long as you want to hear from us. Ask us to stop and we delete it.
Your choices
Use the unsubscribe link, or reply “stop” to any email from us, and you’re off the list.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete all of it. We’ll usually sort it the same week. Those are your rights under UK GDPR.
Anything else
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first and we’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
